Upper Minnamurra Rivercare has been carrying out Landcare activities for almost 20years in the upper reaches of the Minnamurra River. Local landholders work together on each other’s properties and carry out river restoration activities such as removal of noxious and environmental weeds from the area, construction of stock exclusion fencing which works towards keeping cattle out of the water ways and improve the quality of the water entering the Minnamurra catchment, and planting native vegetation to complement the vegetation communities in the area.
The group works 8-9 days of the year at the discretion of the coordinator, from 8am-1pm. Most of the vegetation is Illawarra sub-tropical rainforest and is surrounded by Minnamurra Rainforest National Park. New volunteers are always welcome to join the friendly team in their efforts to restore and protect this stunning part of the region.
8-9 times a year from 8am-1pm (contact coordinator for any scheduled working bee dates)
