Jamberoo Community Streamwatch Group
The Jamberoo Community Streamwatch Group started testing in 2004 when they won the Best New Group Award at the 2004 Streamwatch Awards. The group consists of local residents as well as Jamberoo Golf Course staff. One of the objectives of the group is to measure the positive impacts of Jamberoo being connected to Sydney Water?s mains Sewerage System. The group tests two of their fifteen sites per week.
The Jamberoo Communtiy Streamwatch Group has had many successes with 2005 being a huge year for the group. In 2005 they won the Dolphin Award for the most Outstanding group in the entire Streamwatch Network. They also won a highly commended in the Excellence in Water Quality monitoring Award. While John Griffiths, the local coordinator of the group, won a Highly Commended for the most Outstanding Coordinator award. The groups activities and members also contributed to Jamberoo winning the 2005 Tidy Town award for its town size category.
